Title: Amber Fang: The Hunted

Author: Arthur Slade

Review Rating: 5 stars

Amber Fang is a boss ass bitch and I love her. Brutally matter-of-fact and self aware, she spends a lot of time alone in Amber Fang: The Hunted interrogating herself and the world. She is acidly observant and is good company as she and the reader navigate author Arthur Slade’s carefully thought-out and realized urban fantasy landscape.

The paranormal elements of Amber Fang: The Hunted are logical and consistent. The settings are efficiently established and feel like real places even when they are real places, which is the hard part. As the first of a series, Amber Fang: The Hunted has lots of heavy lifting to do, but the exposition comes easily and digestibly. This may be a boring compliment to offer, but Amber Fang: The Hunted is a neat and tidy piece of art.

Amber Fang: The Hunted is a short and swift-running novel. I finished it in one sitting by accident, one-more-page-ing my way through several Pomodoro breaks and lunch. Maybe I’m a softie, but I like being happy and Amber Fang: The Hunted made me happy. Bring on Amber Fang #2.❤
